Goldfish Makes Miraculous Recovery

According to yesterday’s Metro, a goldfish which lives in a barrel two miles away made a miraculous recovery after it’s owner left it for a cat to eat after discovering it ‘dead’ underneath two inches of ice. Five hours after leaving it on his porch, the man was amazed to notice it flapping it’s tail. Whether or not it was signalling SOS wasn’t mentioned, but it was a very lucky fish.

Carp can survive for days out of water if they are kept damp, and under ice they have a tendency to go to sleep. Care must be taken not to damage the fish if you are breaking through ice, as the shock waves can be quite distressing.
